Guillermo Jalil - Philatino Auction #112 - ARGENTINA: Essays, proofs and artist designs
Proofs and essays are a very interesting chapter in the philately of any country, and much more of Argentina, because thanks to the 1958 Kneitschel catalog they have been very well catalogued, showing the wide range of existing material, generally with small amounts of each item. Through the years, new colors and printings of proofs have been been found, making this a very attractive and challenging field for any avid collector. In recent years, interest in Argentine proofs and essays has grown considerably and there are no large stocks sufficient to meet the demand, prices are still very low compared to those of other countries, and we think this factor will surely affect prices in the medium term. In his sale we present some 200 very interesting lots of great rarity, with low and attractive starts both for collectors and stamp dealers!
