Lot #1380 - st. kitts and nevis
1885 (Oct 29) Registered cover to London franked by two examples of both the 1d carmine-rose and 1884 4d surcharge on 6d paying the double rate of 10d, the four stamps applied close to each corner, each tied by the "A12" numeral with a St Kitts c.d.s, red Registered London datestamp and oval framed "R" all on the front. An exceptional use of 4d provisional surcharge, apparently commercial and exhibition quality. Photo on Page 206.

1904 Registered cover to Bermuda bearing Leeward Is. 1d on 4d strip of six, one with the variety tall narrow "O" in "One" (S.G. 17a, £85), tied by three St. Kitts A12 duplexs, oval framed "R" handstamp and a Hamilton arrival backstamp. An unusual franking and destination. Photo on Page 206.
