Friday Dec 01, 2023 09:00 Europe/Zurich

1873: 1 c. purple and 4 c. brown, used on cover, from BUENOS AIRES (Argentina) to HAVANA (Cuba), via SPAIN - making a double crossing of Atlantic Ocean - stamps tied by '4' in circle with Buenos Aires datestamp alongside (30 May 1878), 1.Pesto charge mark in blue applied on arrival in Badajoz (28 Jun 1873) and '3' struck in black applied when arrived in Cuba, having gone via British sea route by steamer to Lisbon and by land to Badajoz, then by ship to Cuba, an incredible journey, and probably a unique example.
